Settled over 140 years ago, the City of Oviedo got its first big break in 1964 when it was selected as home to Florida Technological University, now University of Central Florida, one of the largest and most diverse universities in the country. Since then, Oviedo has experienced tremendous growth and become a popular community for downtown Orlando commuters.
